Recently I have been very inspired to write some metal. I have been getting into djent, Deathcore, Hardcore and Thall recently and I really want to produce some of my own. My partner was very encouraging and helped me pick out a guitar and a bass to play with. We got 2 modest instruments but I am excited with the sounds im getting already.
I will post tracks soon but for now im going to just talk about them.
I am pretty excited about this and have been playing it a lot. I have never owned a 7string before. I went with a 7string because its easy to put into drop A. I also wanted to experiment with an all 4ths based tuning.
I am quite surprised with how this bass sounds. Its by no means a great instrument but I was expecting to put in more work to get a good tone. I am not much of a bass player and have always had a hard interpreting clean bass frequencies But this bass has helped me not feel overwhelmed at the effort.
I am however starting to get quite annoyed with thick bass strings. I want to try a .145 on my low a and I can not seem to get one. I live in a small city in southern Minnesota. I have called several music stores, some of which are hours away, no body has thicker than a .135.
